A five-year-old girl and two others were hospitalized after a crash at a bus stop on Sunday night involving a driver with an “L” licence.

Surrey RCMP say that it happened at approximately 5 pm at a bus stop on 72 Avenue between 122 Street and 124 Street.

Police say that a vehicle being driven by a new driver “left the roadway and mounted the sidewalk,” hitting three people in the process.

One of the victims included a five-year-old girl. Another victim suffered multiple fractures and all three of them were taken to the hospital.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle was an “L” who was “under supervision at the time of the collision.”

“Early indications are that distraction may have been a factor in this collision,” says the Surrey RCMP in an emailed statement.

Anyone with information about the incident or with dashcam footage is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

No charges have been laid at this time.
