Metro Vancouver’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating the suspicious death of 22-year-old Cameron Leon in North Vancouver.

Leon was found dead in Mosquito Creek on Friday, just three days after a Canada-wide warrant was issued after he failed to return to his Vancouver halfway house on Monday, November 30.

The 5’11” tall, 195 pound man was convicted of physical and sexual assault causing bodily harm.

He was on statutory release serving a two-year sentence for raping a woman and repeatedly punching her in a Chilliwack alley in 2012. A judge gave him a two-year jail sentence with three years of probation for the sexual assault and one year in jail and three years on probation for the physical assault.

Prior to his disappearance last week, he was seen wearing a grey hoodie with a Puma logo, dark pants, white shoes and a black backpack.
