2009 Parade of Lost Souls, Commercial Drive Vancouver - Not Happening

Update: A grass roots movement is underway to have a gathering this Saturday October 24th, to continue the parade of lost souls. We encourage you to tell all your friends to gather at Grandview Park @ 7pm for what we dubbed the March of Lost Souls. Come dressed for Halloween and enjoy the good vibes of the Drive.

Last year was the 5th edition of what is probably Vancouver’s best parade. Sadly, this year I’ve been told by Public Dreams Society that it will be taking a year off. Fear not the parade will definitely be back next year, its just that the Public Dreams Society had this year marked for planning the parade to see what it can do better.

For those of you wondering what the hell I am talking about, see our post on the 2008 Vancouver Parade of Lost Souls. It usually occurs the Saturday closest to Halloween.

It’s the one parade where the community really gets involved as houses are elaborately decorated,  the unmistakable haunting drum sounds proliferate throughout the Drive and of course citizens of Vancouver definitely get in the spirit of Halloween.
