The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in South Surrey on Friday morning.

On September 6, at approximately 12:32 am, members of the Surrey RCMP responded to a reported altercation in the 1600 blocks of 160 street.

Upon arrival, police officers say they found a 46-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a home in that area.

He was transported to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

In a release, IHIT says Surrey RCMP have now arrested two male suspects in relation this homicide.

The men remain in custody and no charges have been laid at this time.

Investigators say both males were known to the victim and police do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects.

“This appears to be a tragic and isolated incident,” said Cst. Harrison Mohr with IHIT, in a statement.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, and our team of investigators are working diligently to try to find the answers his family needs, as well as the answers we need for a successful investigation.”
