The city of Toronto has down the intersection of Yonge and Richmond for the entire weekend.
If you’ve been driving downtown today you may have already noticed a back log of traffic. ‘Cause that’s what happens when you shut down one of the biggest intersections in the city.
Sadly, Toronto’s need for both sidewalk repairs and TTC track replacement means we have to suffer through a weekend of shutdown.
According to the City of Toronto:
The intersection of Yonge Street and Richmond Street West will be fully closed to traffic from Thursday, October 27 at 6 a.m. to Monday, October 31 at 7 a.m.
Detours are in place for traffic in all directions.
Also know that tomorrow, Friday, October 28 at 11 pm to Saturday, October 29 at 11 pm, Yonge Street between Queen and Dundas will also be closed.
Basically, if you’re going to the heart of the city this weekend, walk.
