Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the City of Toronto.
According to the weather agency, frequent showers and thundershowers are expected through Friday evening.
“Areas of showers and thundershowers are expected to move across southern Ontario at times through tonight,” reads the statement. “The first wave will reach the GTA around 3 pm. A few locales will see total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm before the showers end early Saturday.”

Temperatures are expected to stay fairly warm throughout the weekend, although showers are expected again on Monday (aka Canada Day).
