If you’ve been tuning into Toronto Blue Jays playoff baseball, you’ve likely noticed the jacked fan sitting behind home plate.
The man, who has since been revealed as Dean Angelo, had the internet abuzz during Game 1 of the ALDS, as many were shocked at just how big he appeared to be.

As it turns out, Angelo, who was also spotted behind home plate versus the Seattle Mariners in the ALCS, works as a personal trainer in Toronto. After some digging, his identity was discovered by Jesse Kirshenbaum, who hosts the BClutch podcast. Kirshenbaum recently had Angelo on for an interview, where the bodybuilder gave a hilarious breakdown of the moment he first realized he’d gone viral.
“I got home from the game after the Yankees series, and me and my girlfriend got in a fight,” Angelo explained. “I got all these texts from kids I used to train. I didn’t have TikTok, they just sent me a bunch. And I was like, ‘oh sh*t, look what’s going on.’ She got so p*ssed off. She was so upset about it.
“Then we were like, ‘okay, maybe this isn’t a bad thing.’ But it was crazy to see.”

This wasn’t the only interview Angelo has given since becoming an online sensation, either. He also joined Virgin Radio Toronto to talk about just how crazy these past few days and weeks have been for him.
“It’s crazy. I don’t really do much online presence stuff,” Angelo said. “I’ve been going to games in those seats since I was 12 years old. I do compete, so I got this big on purpose.”
Angelo, who has been competing for over eight years, shared a little tidbit that helps show just how much effort he puts into his physique.
“I pack my meals to the game, but I try to eat them between innings because I don’t want anyone to see that on camera.”

The Blue Jays lost the two opening games of the ALCS, meaning that to keep the series alive, they will need to win at least two of their three road games against the Mariners. If they can do so, perhaps we’ll see Angelo behind home plate once again for a potential Game 6 and 7.
