New Toronto sandwich shop co-owned by Grammy-nominated artist keeps selling out daily

A new sandwich spot in Toronto is taking the city by storm, and it’s not just due to the shop’s celebrity co-owner.

Toronto is no stranger to sandwich shops breaking the internet — locally, at least. Whether it’s the supreme overlord of the city’s sandwich scene, Lambo’s Deli, or newer spots like Alfie’s, if it comes between two pieces of bread (or a single folded one, we don’t discriminate), the people will almost certainly come flocking.

The latest local sandwich shop to ascend to star status is Parkdale’s Tutto Panino, and a decent amount of the fervour could quite possibly be attributed to the fact that there’s some star power behind the counter, too.

The casual neighbourhood shop just so happens to be co-owned and operated by Grammy-nominated musician, Charlotte Day Wilson, alongside her dream team of partners: Paul Liliani, Andi Larocca, and Kaitlyn Lasagna.

Tutto Panino, which originally started as a pop-up and occasional catering company, permanently planted its roots in Parkdale in early June 2025, and has already made quite the splash in the neighbourhood and across the city’s sandwich-loving community.

Still, the sandwiches sing enough on their own that they’d have made their mark on the food scene — even if the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter had never picked up a microphone.

The fact that the shop has been consistently selling out hours before closing time since opening at the beginning of June is evidence of that. If it happens once, you can chalk it up to hype, but multiple times? You’ve likely got some dang good sandwiches on your hands.

Among the early standouts on the menu are the Mortadella, which comes loaded with whipped ricotta, green olives, and pepperoncini; the Chicken Verde, with poached chicken salad, iceberg lettuce, roasted red pepper, and salsa verde; and the house special Tutto, the shop’s take on the classic Italian trio.

There’s also the option to build your own sandwich, or grab a little bit of dolce in the form of seasonally rotating cannoli or an old-fashioned tiramisu.

Co-founder Andi Larocca tells Dished Toronto that the team has been “incredibly excited and a little overwhelmed” by the evangelical following the shop has already garnered in such a short time.

“The community and neighbourhood have been incredibly supportive, and we’re thrilled to see so many regulars already turning up,” Larocca says. “It truly motivates us to keep doing what we do!”

Still, Larocca clarifies, Tutto Panino was never intended to be a hype-based restaurant that people visit once to post it on Instagram and then never again. The whole team hopes Tutto Panino can become a neighbourhood staple.

“We’re not trying to be a once-in-a-while treat,” Larocca tells Dished Toronto. “We want to be your regular spot, somewhere you feel comfortable hanging out and enjoying a great sandwich multiple times a week and also just chilling.”

You don’t have to ask us twice.

While the sandwich shop’s early success has certainly been exciting, Larocca points out that the crowds have also provided a major learning experience for the team thus far.

“Our biggest challenge has definitely been keeping up with the overwhelming demand while maintaining our high standards,” Larocca tells Dished Toronto. “We’re a new team, and while we’re super busy, we’re constantly learning.”

On the other hand, being received by an enthusiastic and welcoming community has been among the greatest rewards.

“It really makes all the hard work worthwhile,” says Larocca. “Our goal is to be an everyday sandwich stop, and the early signs are super encouraging.”
