TTC subway service on Line 2 will end early from May 4 to 7

If late-night travel on the TTC is your norm, take note.

From Monday, May 4, through to Thursday, May 7, subway service on the portion of Line 2 between Jane and Kipling stations will end at 11 pm for track work.

Replacement shuttle buses will run frequently, stopping at each station along the route, and TTC staff will be present to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations.

Anyone requiring Wheel-Trans service should speak to a TTC staff member for assistance.

During the closures, all stations will remain open for PRESTO fare sales and access to surface routes however, the automatic entrance at Royal York Station will be closed.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades,” the transit agency said.

Those travelling this weekend should also note that on May 3, the subway will not run between Sheppard-Yonge and St Clair stations as TTC crews continue installation and testing of the Automatic Train Control (ATC) signalling system.
