A portion of Line 1 will start service late this weekend

Jan 16 2019, 3:42 am

The portion of Line 1 between Bloor and Osgoode stations will be temporarily closed until noon this Sunday, January 20 for track work and maintenance.

According to the TTC, shuttle buses will be running, stopping outside each station along the route.

Wellesley Station will be closed until noon, but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and transfers to surface routes.

Wheel-Trans will also be available upon request from any station. Customers can speak with a TTC staff member for more information about service frequency.

Additionally, the TTC says the longer than normal travel times on the southbound portion of Line 1 between Eglinton West and King stations will soon be coming to an end.

The slow travel times were due to ongoing track upgrades between Union and King stations. The majority of track work required to lift the restricted speed zone will be performed during the closure this Sunday morning.

Service is expected to return to normal later next week.
