On Tuesday night, as many watched the US election results come in, Toronto offered some respite from the politically tense evening.

Many photographed and posted videos of the saturated sky, with the strong red hard to ignore on election night for our neighbours to the south.

Not sure how this tweet will age but maybe Toronto’s sunset this evening is a good omen. Trying to keep the hope alive that anti-racism, health equity, reproductive rights, and science will prevail.#ElectionDay pic.twitter.com/osrbgAMght

As the sun sets on another day the feathery clouds are looking like bright flames in the sky just before they turn into pink cotton wisps which are a prelude to the deep blue night. #sunset #toronto pic.twitter.com/Wf7Cng2486
