There will be free DJ skate nights at Union Station's massive new rink

This holiday season, Toronto’s Union Station is the place to be.

From November 29 through January 4, Canada’s busiest transit hub will be a one-stop-shop for all your holiday needs, including shopping and gift wrapping.

At Union Holiday, presented by TD, you can stock up on gifts for everyone on your list from a number of leading local retailers including Forno Cultura, Peace Collective, Danish Pastry House, Cabin, Greenhouse Juice, Pilot Coffee Roasters, The Detox Market, and more.

And when you’re done getting your shop on, Union Station will be the home to free gift wrapping inside the historic West Wing from December 9 through 24.

Additionally, visitors looking to escape the cold and swing by the warming lounge, where they can enjoy a number of festive activities and free musical performances.

But the big highlight at Union this year is the addition of the station’s massive new skating rink at the Sir John A. MacDonald Plaza.

During the holiday season, visitors can check out the station’s new programming Union Beats, which will feature live DJs on select nights in November and December.

DJ Killa Kelz will be hitting the decks first on November 29, and then after that, there will be a DJ spinning every Friday and Saturday night from 5 pm to 9 pm.

The new rink will be open daily (weather permitting), will be completely free of charge, and promises to keep you in a festive mood throughout the busy holiday season.

Whether it’s your first time on ice or you’re a seasoned pro, skating lessons and helmet rentals will both be available for free, courtesy of TD and Union.
