Broken things are getting a new lease on life now that the Repair Cafe Toronto has launched a weekly initiative at the Toronto Tool Library.
In an effort to keep things out of landfills and also impart a little practical know-how, expert volunteers will share their knowledge, tools, and time to restore broken treasures; “electronics, clothing, jewelry, small appliances, etc.” while item owners watch, learn, and sip coffee or tea.
It sounds kind of like asking your dad for help with less likelihood of someone throwing a tantrum before accomplishing the task at hand.
Consider this your license to go wild at any one of this summer’s big yard sales or antique markets.

When: Sundays, noon to 4pm
