Massive antique market taking place just 1 hour from Toronto next weekend

May 30 2017, 11:11 pm

Ever wonder where stores like Eclectic Revival and Smash Salvage source their inventory? Those who cherish the hunt just as much as the find, need not look any further than the Aberfoyle Antique Market.

Open to the public from 8 am to 4 pm every Sunday from April 30 to October 29, the Aberfoyle is a hub for dealers hawking vintage finds ranging from timeworn furniture and obsolete appliances to old school steamer trunks, vintage cookware, textiles, jewelry, and artwork.

Per the event website, “The quality is far superior to today’s mass-produced goods–because they really don’t make things the way they used to.”

While the weekly market is a worthwhile day trip on any summer Sunday, Aberfoyle also hosts special Saturday shows twice a year that see an additional 90+ guest dealers join the season regulars. The spring edition typically happens in May but was postponed until June 10 this year.

Admission is just $2 at the Sunday markets, though you’ll pay a $6 premium to get in the gates at the upcoming Saturday season opener.

The grounds are dog-friendly, and there’s a restaurant and creamery on site supplying various eats and frozen sweets to be enjoyed on a patio.

Go early and get first dibs, or go late and haggle for the best deals!
