'Gusty winds' of up to 80 km/h prompts special weather statement for Toronto

Hold onto your hats Toronto, it’s about to get windy.

So windy, in fact, that Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Thursday afternoon and early evening.

According to the weather agency, westerly winds gusting as high as 80 km/h are likely late this afternoon and into the early evening as a front passes the area.

This gusts of wind may also be accompanied by thunderstorms.

However, the gusty winds are expected to end by this evening.

While temperatures are expected to drop down to 11°C tonight, we can look forward to some sunshine on Friday and a high of 23°C.
