Another weekend, another set of road closures in Toronto. As though last night’s Raptors-pandemonium wasn’t enough.

On the bright side, though, that means lots of fun events to hit up!

These are the events in Toronto causing road closures this weekend. While businesses will be open to pedestrian traffic, those who wish to drive are encouraged to plan ahead.

The City of Toronto is reminding the public that in addition to special events, a significant amount of road work will be taking place throughout the city as well. They are encouraging people to take public transit as a greener, faster, and more affordable way to get around.

Full Weekend Closures

Taste of Little Italy

College Street will be completely closed between Shaw Street and Bathurst Street for the whole weekend. The closure will start on Friday, June 14 at 6 pm and will end on Monday, June 17 at 3 am.

If you’re planning on taking transit, keep in mind that this event means service detours as well:

NXNE Festival Village

North By Northeast Festival is taking over Yonge and Dundas this weekend with plenty of free live music, comedy and other entertainment. As a result, Yonge Street between Dundas Street to Queen Street, as well as Dundas Square from Yonge Street to O’Keefe Lane will be closed as of overnight on Friday, June 14. The closure will end early morning on Monday, June 17.

Saturday Closures

Lululemon Toronto 10K

The Lululemon Toronto 10K run will be happening downtown on Saturday, June 15, and there will be various full and rolling road closures and restrictions at various times between 4:30 am and noon. The running route, including the starting line and the finish line, will impact parts of University Avenue, Queen Street West, Bremner Boulevard, Rees Street, Lake Shore Boulevard West, and Parkside Drive.

Sunday Closures

Journey to Conquer Cancer 5K Walk or Run

This 5K run in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre on Sunday morning, June 16, will see full and rolling closures from 8 am to noon. The route will impact parts of University Avenue, Queen’s Park Crescent and Orde Street.

Yorkville Exotic Car Show

If you need a fun thing to do with dad this Father’s Day, Yorkville’s Exotic Car Show will have plenty of shiny hot rods for you and pop to peruse. There will be closures in the area for most all of Sunday, June 16 as a result. These closures will run from 5:30 am to 8:30 pm. They are: Bloor Street West will be closed between Avenue Road and Bay Street, Bellair Street will be closed between Bloor Street West and Critchley Lane, and St. Thomas Street will be closed between Bloor Street West and Sultan Street.
