All the outdoor movies you can still watch in Toronto this summer

Now that we’re officially halfway through August, there are only a few more weeks left of summer.

This means you need to make the most of the good weather and enjoy all the remaining summer events happening in the city, including the outdoor movie screenings.

With a few weeks left of summer, there are still a number of movie screenings scheduled throughout the city. The best part? Most of them are free.

So, grab your blankets and snacks, these are all the outdoor movies you can still watch this summer in Toronto.

Free Movies at the Park – Jumanji

What: This Saturday you can enjoy a free screening of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle at Downsview Park’s outdoor football field and running track. Bring a lawn chair or blanket (and a friend), and be sure to arrive early to enter our raffle for a chance to win a prize pack.

When: August 18

Christie Pits Film Festival: Surprise Screenings

What: This weekend, the Christie Pits Film Festival is hosting two surprise screenings. Although all screenings are free of charge, there is a suggested donation of $10.

When: August 18 and 19
Time: Roughly 9 pm
Where: Christie Pits Park, 779 Crawford Ave West

Open Roof Festival

What: Open Roof Festival will be back for its ninth season this summer, and the festival has announced it’s relocating to a new venue. On Wednesday evenings, Open Roof Festival features live music and film screenings with food and drinks.

When: August 22
Time: Doors open at 7 pm
Where: Sterling Road in the Lower Junction Triangle (the lot adjacent to 158 Sterling Road)

Movie Nights in The Beach Village

What: This month, you can join the Beach Village for Movie Nights in the Park on Wednesday evenings. Movie screenings will rotate between Kew Gardens and Ivan Forrest Gardens Park. As always, admission (and popcorn!) is FREE.

When: August 22 and 29

Parkway Forest Park Free Movies

What: This August, movie buffs can enjoy an impressive lineup of films at Parkway Forest Park as part of Toronto Outdoor Picture Show’s Cinematic Cities programme, a month-long series of outdoor films celebrating cities on screen, at home, and abroad.

When: Thursday evenings, August 23 and 30
Time: Roughly 9 pm
Where: Parkway Forest Park, 80 Parkway Forest Dr.

Sorauren Park Free Movies

What: Toronto’s Sorauren Park is also hosting free movie screenings, with showings happening on the fourth Saturday of the month. This year, attendees can look forward to pizza dinners before each screening from the new Sorauren Park Pizza Oven, prepared and presented by Pizzeria Defina.

When: August 25 and September 22
Time: Pizza dinner begins at 6 pm
