Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto because of heavy rainfall that’s expected Thursday night and Friday.
Thunderstorms are possible and up to 50 millimetres of rain could fall in some areas, the weather agency said in its statement.
The rain will remain heavy through Friday morning but should taper off around noon.

However, as the rain leaves, heavy winds are forecast to hit the city. Gusts up to 80 kilometres are expected according to Environment Canada.
The stormy weather should clear by Saturday when a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 9°C is expected.
