Taste the love: We tried Toronto's rainbow latte

Jun 24 2016, 9:52 pm

If you love coffee, this latte is for you. Literally.

Toronto’s Bull Dog Coffee founder Stuart Ross starting making the rainbow latte about two months ago. Well, it wasn’t exactly a rainbow latte then, more playing around with colour in a cup:

And while it’s all still colourful latte art, and not restricted to a simple heart, we like to think of it as a rainbow in a cup.

Ross, an award-winning barista, started creating the latte art simply because it’s fun. He wanted to brighten people’s day up a little. And it’s remarkable how much a few drops of food colouring can do just that. So many of us take our caffeine kick for granted; cheesy as it sounds, a colourful heart on top makes you pause and smile before sipping away.

So the next time you’re in the neighbourhood, we suggest you stop by Bull Dog Coffee for a rainbow latte. It’s well worth the couple of bucks. Not to mention, the smile you’ll have all day is completely free.
