Toronto police issue public safety alert following multiple robberies

Toronto Police have issued a public safety alert following three attempted robberies in the Mount Pleasant Road and Lawrence Avenue East area.

According to police, on Tuesday, May 21, between 5:34 pm and 7 pm, a man was driving a stolen black Mercedes-Benz. He allegedly approached several people attempting to rob them and indicated he had a gun at the time of one of the robberies, but police say none was ever seen.

The man is described as black, 25-40, 5’10” to 6’2″, wearing a black baseball hat and dark-coloured clothing.

The vehicle was later recovered by police.

The public is asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious person(s) or activities.
