Toronto's Playa Cabana family of restaurants just adopted a juice bar
Sunshine Wholesome Market has long been a fixture on College Street dealing in juices, smoothies, salads, and organic produce.
Now newly acquired by Dave Sidhu (the guy behind Toronto’s Playa Cabana group of restaurants) and partner Ashley Jeige-Sidhu, the duo are taking over the business and making some modest improvements that are set to debut when the store reopens on Wednesday, November 9 after a week of renovations.
Not only will the name stay the same, the juice bar and salad bar are staying put too, albeit going all organic and all gluten-free. The new and improved market will also carry an expanded selection of organic produce and meats sourced from local organic farmers.
Building on the existing salad bar, the new menu will retail customizable brown rice bowls, sandwiches like avocado subs and chicken dogs, as well as Jun, a fermented kombucha-like bevy made of green tea and raw honey.
