Two people charged with first-degree murder in death of 21-year-old Toronto woman

A man and a woman have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Abbegail Elliott.

According to police, On Wednesday, May 23, around 4:30 pm, officers responded to a call for gunshots at 70 Spadina Road.

After arriving on scene, police located Elliott who was suffering from obvious signs of trauma in one of the apartments.

On Friday, May 25, Saria Lopez Iglesias, 26, of Toronto, was arrested and was charged with first-degree murder. David Obregon Castro, 25, of Toronto, was also arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Castro was also charged with attempted murder and four weapons-related charges for a shooting in the Richardson Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West area on Friday, May 11.

Investigators are asking the public who may have video footage of a fight that occurred at 70 Spadina Road between the victim and the accused, to contact Police.
