Now in its 33rd year as one of the premiere jazz festivals in North America, the
TD Toronto Jazz Festival returns this month.

Running from June 21 to 30, 2019, the event will feature a variety of performances from concert halls to the streets of Yorkville.

The Jazz Festival will offer 10 music-packed days showcasing the very best in jazz from Toronto, across the country and around the world.

To that end, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival this year is presenting an evening with Shad. The host of Netflix’s Hip-Hop Evolution is curating a totally free and unique performance on a shutdown Bloor Street during opening weekend Sunday, June 23.

According to the Festival, the idea behind the set is to introduce hip-hop fans to jazz and jazz fans to hip-hop.

“Shad introduces a variety of artists to stage including Oddissee & Good Company, Elaquent and the Melanie Charles Trio. Shad is also performing a set of his own following the showcase of artists he’s chosen as part of his curated show Shad Presents,” said organizers.
