Paddleboarding is definitely a popular summer activity in Toronto.

Because there’s really no better way to take in the incredible views of the city all while getting in a killer workout.

And this summer you can go paddleboarding at night during a sunset tour as you work your way through the serene waterways of the Toronto Islands.

With an illuminated paddle at hand, you will light up hidden paths that will lead to breathtaking views of the city skyline, island homes, and wildlife.

And whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, there will be accredited instructors on hand to give you a quick lesson to ensure you’re comfortable before heading into the water.

The adventure beings with a leisurely sunset paddle under the Algonquin Bridge past island homes and houseboats.

Once dusk falls, it’s time to light up the paddles, each of which are equipped with an LED lighting system which illuminates everything in front of you, as you take in the spectacular night views of the cityscape.

Led by Toronto Island SUP, this illuminated paddle boarding experience takes place every Friday night from June to September. It’s two hours long and costs $75 per person.

Participants are encouraged to bring a swimsuit, long sleeves for on the water, a warm change of clothes for after, towel, and water.

The illuminated experience begins just before sunset at Toronto Island SUP’s launch site on Wards Island by the foot of the Algonquin Bridge.
