For the first time ever you can now zipline over Niagara Falls at night

Summer is nearly here and with it comes plenty of opportunities to explore and experience our fine province.

And what better way to take in the beauty of Ontario than from 67 metres (220 feet) above the ground as you zipline above the raging Niagara Falls?

And while you can already experience this adrenalin rushing activity in the daylight, you’ll soon be able to zipline beneath the stars this summer.

A spokesperson for Wild Play Element Parks has confirmed that the Illumination Zipline will open to the public this June, starting on the 15 and 16. Illumination Zipline will then be open seven days a week beginning June 22.

So this summer you’ll be able to rip across the wide river gorge, catching a never-before-seen view of the American and Canadian falls as they are illuminated with a rainbow of colours at night.

While few details have been released, if Illumination Zipline is anything like the afternoon experience, you can expect to cruise at 70 plus km/h along the edge of the vast Niagara river gorge all the way to the observation landing.

The ride last between 45-90 seconds between Niagara Parks Grand View Marketplace and the Ontario Power Company building at the base of Horseshoe Falls.
