A Toronto McDonald’s has confirmed one of their staff members has tested positive for COVID-19 since Thursday, as more cases continue to be reported.

McDonald’s Canada has shared its COVID-19 advisory page with updates up until January 7.

According to the fast-food chain, an employee at one of their locations, 25 Joe Shuster Way, reported testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 3.

Anyone who visited an affected McDonald’s is asked to take directions from Ontario Public Health.

In the last week and during the holidays, over 10 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported.

McDonald’s Canada says their restaurants have implemented a number of enhanced safety measures, including having hand sanitizer dispensers available, keeping high-touch surfaces and tables sanitized, and making masks mandatory for all staff.

“Maintaining the health and well-being of our crew and guests is our top priority, and we will continue to monitor and adapt measures, where necessary,” said McDonald’s Canada.

“We continue to work with local health authorities to support our people and our guests, and look forward to getting back to serving our community.”
