Two McDonald’s locations in the GTA have reported several positive COVID-19 cases among its staff since Tuesday.

McDonald’s Canada has shared its COVID-19 advisory page, updating several cases that have been reported.

On January 5, an employee at a McDonald’s located at 5595 Steeles Avenue East in Scarborough, tested positive for COVID-19.

On January 6, two employees at a separate location, 300 Steeles Avenue West in Thornhill, reported testing positive for the virus. They had last worked on January 2 and 3, respectively.

Anyone who visited an affected McDonald’s is asked to take directions from Ontario Public Health.

McDonald’s Canada says their restaurants have implemented a number of enhanced safety measures, including having hand sanitizer dispensers available, keeping high-touch surfaces and tables sanitized, and making masks mandatory for all staff.

“Maintaining the health and well-being of our crew and guests is our top priority, and we will continue to monitor and adapt measures, where necessary,” said McDonald’s Canada.

“We continue to work with local health authorities to support our people and our guests, and look forward to getting back to serving our community.”
