Fortinos and Sobeys employees test positive for COVID-19

Two more Toronto area grocery stores have reported positive COVID-19 cases among staff on Wednesday as the province continues to see a high number of cases.

According to Loblaws’ daily coronavirus update, on October 28, a Fortinos location at 3940 Highway 7 in Vaughan reported an employee testing positive for COVID-19. The last day they worked was October 19.

Sobeys also reported a case on October 27. An employee at Sobeys located at 840 Dupont Street in Toronto tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee had last worked on October 22.

In an effort for transparency, Loblaws regularly updates their coronavirus cases in stores by province within the last 15 days, as well as Sobey’s for 14 days.

“In addition, we have mandated that our staff and customers wear masks in Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores and T&T stores across Canada,” said Loblaws.
