Toronto's new Foot Locker Power store announces opening date (PHOTOS)

Toronto’s highly anticipated Foot Locker Power Store has announced its opening date.

The exterior of Toronto’s first Foot Locker Power store, located at 306 Yonge Street (Foot Locker).

The new retail space is located at 306 Yonge and will celebrate its grand opening from Friday, July 9 to Sunday, July 11. The three-storey retail space spans over 15,000 sq ft.

The brand describes Power Store as an ā€œelevated retail experience.ā€ In addition to a larger space than typical Foot Locker retailers, the concept includes an extensive amount of products and offerings.

The new store also includes custom artwork painted by artists, as well as an activation space that will host ongoing community events for sneaker and streetwear lovers. Due to the ongoing pandemic, however, community events will only take place in the future, when it is safe to do so.

In addition to the activation space, the new Power Store also features a barber set-up and lounge.

Toronto’s new retail location is the second Power Store in Canada, following Vancouver. It marks the ninth of Foot Locker’s global locations, with other Power Stores located in New York, Philadelphia, Washington Heights, and California.

Visitors will be able to find full-family shopping and offerings from Foot Lockerā€™s top brands, such as Nike, Jordan, Vans, Converse, Adidas, and Puma.

To celebrate the grand opening, Foot Locker will also be hosting an in-store activation that includes exclusive products from Nike, Jordan, and adidas, as well as custom installations from local artists Alexis Eke and Jacquie Comrie.

In addition to an onsite giveaway of custom tote bags designed by the two artists, the first 50 customers will receive $25 gift cards. There will also be ten random winning tickets for a pair of Nike Air Force 1s.

On Saturday, an ambassador from sneaker customization studio Mack House will also be onsite to do Fast Mack customizations. Visitors will receive free face plates, laces, and sneaker tags on sneaker purchases over 120.

Foot Locker will also be doing a Grails for Good drop. Visitors will have a chance to win one of 18 exclusive sneakers and can enter by making a $100 purchase or donating a new or gently used sneaker.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the store will open with a 25% in-store shopping capacity. Additionally, other health and safety measures such as social distancing guidelines, plexiglass shields, mask usage, and hand sanitization stations will be used.
