Museum of the Moon

What: The world-renowned Museum of the Moon is a touring art installation by artist Luke Jerram, and will be landing in Stratford as it makes its first-ever appearance in the province. The strikingly realistic, scale-model moon exhibit has been visiting major cultural cities around the world since 2016, inspiring and entertaining with its blend of science and art.

A Forest of Canoes at The Bentway
What: A Forest of Canoes by Dana Claxton, is a site-specific installation set up throughout The Bentway and is co-commissioned with Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival and curated by Bonnie Rubenstein. The installation highlights the iconic role and symbolism of the canoe in Canadian, Metis, and Indigenous histories.

Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)
What: No summer is complete without a visit to the EX. Get some food, and win some ridiculously large prizes.

Spiders: Fear & Fascination
What: This summer, the ROM welcomed a new exhibit, Spiders: Fear & Fascination and trust us, it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. The exhibit explores the hunting, burrowing, and weaving world of these eight-legged creatures and will feature more than 400 live and preserved spiders, cutting-edge interactive experiences, and new scientific discoveries.

Open Kitchen Toronto Crêpe and Movie Night
What: You can get a taste of New York City in Prince Edward County (PEC) Friday night. Toronto Chef Charlotte Langley of Scout Canning teams up with Chef Amanda Cohen of Dirt Candy NYC for the one-time-only Crêpe and Movie Night. Guests are invited to BYO-beverages.

Indie Fridays

What: Chevrolet Canada presents Indie Fridays, a free concert series featuring some of Canada’s top indie musicians on Friday evenings.

Toronto Cider Festival 2018
What: The Toronto Cider Festival returns this August. Taking over the Sherbourne Common, the waterfront festival will bring together more than 100 kinds of cider “from the best apple growing regions across Canada.”

Chudleigh Cider Summer Nights
What: Chudleigh’s Farm re-opened in July, unveiling a brand new way to experience the farm. As part of the new experience, the farm is launching Summer Cider Nights, which will take place on Friday and Saturday nights throughout August, featuring live music, delicious food, wagon rides, the new Chudleigh’s Hard Cider and so much more.

CNE Food Truck Frenzy
What: The annual CNE Food Truck Frenzy wraps up summer by bringing together nearly two dozen food trucks. Conveniently, this food fest takes place at the same time as the CNE Craft Beer Fest so you can wash down your fave curbside eats with a cold one.

What: Beer, Bourbon & BBQ is back. This food fest centred around summertime essentials returns to Toronto’s waterfront this weekend. Like one massive cook-off fueled by cold beers and brown liquor, this festival promises slow-smoked and grilled meats among the main attractions. Rock ‘n’ Horse Saloon, Parallel Brothers and Fidel Gastro’s food truck are just a few of the food vendors you should save your appetite for.

The Dark Knight 10th anniversary screenings
What: It’s been ten years since Christopher Nolan released “The Dark Knight,” and you can soon watch the film in IMAX to celebrate the occasion. To mark the anniversary of its release, Warner Bros. Pictures is screening the film at four select IMAX locations for an exclusive one-week engagement starting August 24.

Free Yoga at Ontario Place
What: Every weekend this summer, Ontario Place hosts yoga at Trillium Park. On Saturday and Sundays, from now until August 26, the morning classes will be offered with no sign ups necessary. Yogis just need to bring a mat for practice.

Coconut Festival Canada

What: Taking over David Pecaut Square, this coconut focused food festival is all about the health benefits and deliciousness of the tropical fruit. Waterfront Artisan Market

Scarborough Afro-Carib Fest

Bloorcourt Festival
What: This festival boasts one of Toronto’s largest gatherings of artists, musicians, artisans, and masters of all crafts. There will be vendors, emerging artists and veterans alike. The Bentway Block Party

What: The Bentway is hosting a massive block party this August to celebrate the full completion of Phase 1 construction and everyone’s invited. On Saturday, August 25, the entire family can enjoy fun games and activities in the Kids Zone, check out the open-air arcade from Hand Eye Society, roaming live musical performances, dance workshops, a street dance competition, and more.

Tamil Fest

Dachshund Derby
What: The first-ever Dachshund Derby will see 30 Dachshunds compete in a 25-metre dash for the championship title and a $500 grand prize. Spectators can look forward to three qualifying heats featuring 10 ultra-cute contenders at a time. The qualifiers will start at approximately 1:40 pm on the EP Taylor Turf Course and be followed by one championship race.
