If your condo lacks personality there’s no better fix than a new piece of art.
Whether you’re in the market for an acrylic painting, a professional print or a one-of-a-kind sculpture, you’re going to find the perfect piece at The Artist Project, a contemporary art fair happening in Toronto this week.
Running from Thursday, February 22 to Sunday, February 25, the art fair will feature works of art from over 250 top contemporary artists from Canada and abroad.
This gives art enthusiasts the chance to meet with artists and buy pieces directly from them.
What sets The Artist Project apart from other art fairs is that it features pieces from a wide variety of mediums including mixed media, glass, encaustic, water colour, and oils and acrylics.
On the schedule this weekend is Art Battle #638, a live painting competition in which 16 artists selected from the fair will create the best work they can in 20 minutes.
The UNTAPPED Emerging Artists Competition will also be taking place, which is a juried competition that awards 20 emerging artists from all mediums an opportunity to exhibit at a professional-level art fair.
Other must-see features include the front entrance installation SHINE ON, which is an impressive 100-foot-long sculptural installation by Nathalie Sanche made entirely out of paper, and the Art Chats Seminar Series, which features engaging talks hosted by leading art and design experts.
Whether you’re in the market for a new piece of art or you’re just looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, a visit to The Artist Project Contemporary Art Fair needs to be in order.
Tickets can be purchased online and are $15 for adults, seniors (65+) and youth (13 to 17) are $12, and children 12 and under are free.
