The MLB trade deadline isn’t until the end of the month, but the Toronto Blue Jays are already making deals.
This morning, the Blue Jays announced a trade with the Chicago White Sox, which will see outfielder Will Robertson head to Chicago in exchange for cash considerations.

The 27-year-old made his MLB debut just over a month ago. He suited up for three games with the Blue Jays, going 1-for-10 with an RBI and a walk. He had been designated for assignment by the Jays late last week.
Though his MLB stat line in limited action was less than desirable, Robertson has shown an ability to hit for power and average in the minor leagues. In 62 games with Triple-A Buffalo this season, he is hitting .292 with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs.
The move gives the 31-62 White Sox some extra depth in the outfield, especially with speculation increasing that they could move out one, or perhaps several outfielders, including Luis Robert Jr., Mike Tauchman, and Michael A. Taylor.
As for the Blue Jays, they will be making some moves going into the deadline, albeit far different ones than the White Sox. Thanks to a recent 10-game winning streak, they find themselves sitting first in the AL East with a 54-39 record.
