Toronto Blue Jays' Davis Schneider explains how 'Pink Pony Club' became his walk-up song

If you’ve tuned into any Toronto Blue Jays games as of late, you’ve likely noticed Davis Schneider’s rather unique walk-up song.

After spending some time with Triple-A Buffalo early in the 2025 season, Schneider was called back up to the Jays in early June and has remained on their roster since. In the early going of the season, the 26-year-old was going with “The Stroke” by Billy Squier as his walk-up song. Recently, however, he’s changed it to “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan.

Schneider recently joined the 6ix Inning Stretch podcast with Whit Merrifield and Lindsay Dunn and discussed what led up to him electing to go with the 2023 hit single.

As it turns out, Schneider was introduced to the song by a newer member of the Blue Jays in Myles Straw. Recently, Straw uploaded a video to his Instagram story that shows Schneider dancing alongside what appears to be a somewhat annoyed Addison Barger while the song is playing.

“I always try to mess with Barger, he’s so funny to mess with,” Schneider said. “He’s literally playing flick homerun on his phone [in the video]. Barger’s hilarious. Anytime I can mess with him, it’s funny. I like to get in his face a little when he’s chilling.

“That’s my new walk-up song, too. Myles introduced me to it, and I just kind of stuck with it. The vibes in the clubhouse are great, so there [will be] a lot more of that.”

While that song choice as a walk-up song may not be a very common pick amongst MLB players, it checks out for Schneider, as he revealed before the season began that his guilty pleasure song happens to be “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.

As far as the clubhouse vibes, it’s no surprise to hear that things have been great for the Jays this year, as they currently sit with an AL East-best record of 74-54, which has them four games up on the second-placed New York Yankees.
