Toronto residents considering switching their internet packages are in luck, as two of the country’s major service providers have slashed their high-speed internet prices by nearly 45%.

Daily Hive Toronto spoke to a representative from Rogers Communications who confirmed they have a promotional offer on its gigabit-per-second service, which is available wherever Rogers has a ‘cable footprint’ in Canada.

Until July 31, those living in Ontario can pay $74.99 for 12 months, which is down from $127.99.

“Customers are looking for fast, reliable Internet to keep them connected at home,” said the Rogers spokesperson. “We regularly have promotions and offers so they can take advantage of Rogers Ignite Internet, with the fastest cable network technology.”

Meanwhile, Bell Canada’s gigabit-per-second home internet package with unlimited data has been slashed to $79.95 in Ontario, down from $149.95, until July 31.
