Toronto Animal Services looking for volunteers to build dog houses
Give a dog a good home⌠without taking one home. Toronto Animal Services is looking for volunteers to build dog houses for the East Shelter at 821 Progress Avenue in Scarborough.
Volunteers wanted! We’re looking for a team of 10 people to put together 12 houses for our shelter dogs at our East Shelter at 821 Progress Ave. You should bring: simple tools (hammers and Philips screwdriver) and an aptitude for woodworking. The animal shelter is looking to assemble a team of 10 people to build a dozen prefab dog houses to provide temporary shelter in outdoor fenced areas for shelter dogs to get their daily activity. The aim is to have the houses built within a month â which will hopefully coincide with the onset on spring-like weather.
While enthusiasm and a love for dogs is an asset, theyâre hoping to find volunteers with an âaptitude for woodworkingâ and their own tools (hammers, Philips screwdrivers, etc.). Theyâll supply space to work, refreshments, dogs to play with, and a tour of the facilities.
