Blue Monday is over, new year’s resolutions are holding up strong, and we’ve already dealt with record-breaking snowfall. But there’s just one thing missing — an official celebration of the new decade.

If you’ve been searching for a way to kick it off in style, look no further than the 2020 motionball Toronto Gala presented by the AIR MILES Reward Program.

Taking place at the Liberty Grand on Friday, February 7, the 19th-annual event is one of the most highly-anticipated social gatherings of the year. And with a roaring ’20s theme, it’s your chance to get glammed up for a great cause.

Hosted by Devo Brown, the gala is set to bring 2,500 celebrities, influencers, young professionals, and Special Olympics athletes together for an exclusive evening across two opulent ballrooms. Guests can expect an open bar, music by DJs, and live entertainment by Cary Shields and a swing band, courtesy of entertainment sponsor Stella Artois.

There’s also going to be a luxury silent auction with over 100 items and experiences; think sports tickets, golf experiences, autographed memorabilia, and more! The event aims to raise at least $300,000 for motionball, a national non-profit that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities and provides funding for Special Olympics athletes.

Founded by the Etherington brothers, the organization inspires young people to enrich the lives of Canadians living with an intellectual disability by building friendships with them.

Since its inception, motionball has raised over $13 million net, and over 12,000 supporters and Special Olympics athletes participate in more than 50 events annually in 27 cities across the country.

By getting dolled up in your most elegant attire and attending the upcoming Gala, you’re supporting the Special Olympics through the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, dedicated to enriching the lives of Canadians with intellectual disabilities.
