Canadians' jaws are dropping over international Tim Hortons drinks

Canadians are feeling a little left out after a tourist shared a unique Tim Hortons drink in Thailand that isn’t available back home.

On Thursday, Canadian X user Alex posted the drink he ordered while he was at a Tim Hortons location in Thailand’s capital city.

“Currently enjoying Tim’s iced capp 55 stories above Bangkok,” he said, sharing a few images.

In the photo, Alex appeared to be enjoying the view of the city from Empire Tower with what looks like a Strawberry Matcha Dream Iced Capp, a flavour Canadians unfortunately can’t order at home.

According to the description online, the drink is made with a blend of premium Kaori matcha, strawberry purée, and strawberry sauce for the perfect sweet treat.

Alex’s post quickly went viral, with many Canadians equal parts envious and excited about Tim Hortons drinks available in other countries.

(Editor’s note: the founder’s full name is Miles Gilbert “Tim” Horton.)

The reaction isn’t surprising and reflects a common sentiment among Tim Hortons fans, with many noting that international locations, especially in Asia, tend to offer more adventurous drinks compared to the ones available in Canada. Daily Hive has previously featured Tims locations in Singapore and the Philippines.

The conversation also led to other Canadians sharing their own experience abroad.

Another X user shared other flavours available at Tim Hortons in Korea.

According to the post, some of the drinks available in Korea include a Strawberry Green Tea Cream Latte, a Scotch Vanilla Latte, a colourful drink inspired by Anne of Green Gables, and a Victoria Harbour Twinkle, which is a tiramisu cream latte.

And here’s something else to make Canadians really jealous: Thailand also recently rolled out its Thainess Series, featuring Thai tea and pandan flavours.

So if you’re travelling to Thailand anytime soon, make sure to try the Thai Iced Tea or the Iced Pandan Latte. Other sweet treats include the Pandan Custard Donut, Pandan Thong Muan Timbits, and Thai Tea Timbits. It will probably be your only chance.

Daily Hive has reached out to Tim Hortons to verify that the drink is a Strawberry Matcha Dream Iced Capp and asked whether it could make its way to Canada anytime soon.
