Toronto brunch spot known for over-the-top meals just launched a new health-forward restaurant

A Toronto restaurant known for its over-the-top menu just opened a new concept that’s all about healthy eats.
Ask any Toronto resident where the best brunch restaurant to cure a hangover is, and after exhausting their go-to greasy spoon suggestions, they’ll likely point you in the direction of The Morning After.
The CityPlace restaurant is a staple known for its hulking portions of decadent brunch dishes, such as multi-level breakfast sandwiches, heaping platters of eggs, bacon, and pancakes, and burgers.
While the restaurant does serve a decent selection of lighter items, The Morning After certainly isn’t known for being particularly health-conscious. Enter the Morning After team’s latest venture: The Cure by TMA.
Officially opening up shop next to the Nobu residences and hotel on Mercer Street as of July 20, you can think of The Cure by TMA as The Morning After’s fitness influencer little sister, featuring a menu of all things green, nutrient-dense, and fresh — though no less tasty than those at The Morning After.
The restaurant is named after one of The Morning After’s most popular dishes, but, in this context, it refers to the restaurant’s mission of becoming a cure, so to speak, for all of your wellness desires.
Where The Morning After cures hangovers by serving food that’s fried, griddled, and perfect for soaking up booze remnants, The Cure solves the issue by serving fresh, light dishes and drinks that’ll convince you, regardless of whatever shenanigans you got up to last night, that you’re the type of person who treats your body with respect.
Think whole-food-based options, such as loaded power bowls, “healthy-fied” versions of favourites like the Chicken Caesar Kale Wrap, and an extensive menu of smoothies.
If you do find yourself in the mood for something with a little more weight to it, the restaurant also serves a “cheat menu” of more indulgent options, like a double-stacked Smashed Burger and Four-Cheese Stacked Grilled Cheese.

It hasn’t been all smooth sailing for The Cure, though; this opening comes at the end of a fairly moderate delay. The restaurant was initially slated to open its doors in late 2024, which was later delayed to the “first few months” of 2025, ultimately landing in July.
Hey, nothing worth having ever comes on time, does it?
