Local doughnut shop matching orders with donations to frontline workers

Apr 13 2020, 2:39 pm

Local eateries are showing up for frontline workers across the GTA, but one, in particular, is working to infuse some sweetness into the days of those doing critical work — and you can help.

Right now, The Box Donut is matching customer orders of six- or 12-packs of their over-the-top, mouthwatering, beautiful doughnut creations.

Which means that you can enjoy goodies for yourself, and know that for each donut you’re indulging in, someone who is on the frontlines is tucking into one too.

To participate, you can send an email to [email protected]. In the message, you’ll need to include your name, how many doughnuts you’d like — six or more –, the delivery address, and your phone number.

You can also add a message to the frontline workers, which will be included on a card from the shop.

If you’re not craving sweets yourself, you can also opt for the initial delivery to go to a friend, or someone who you know could use a pick-me-up.

Either way, the matched offering will still go to those on the frontlines.

This past Friday, the spot delivered to Mount Sinai, and deliveries are continuing to go out each Wednesday and Friday.

Boundaries for delivery from the shop, located at Square One, are east to Ajax, north to Aurora, west to Burlington, and south to downtown.

The sweet spot aims to deliver 200 donuts per hospital they visit.
