MARBL matching customers' meal donations for those in need

If staying hunkered down at home has you wondering how to help others right now, one downtown Restaurant has a solution that doesn’t require getting off the couch.

MARBL, King West’s own house of glamour, closed its doors several weeks ago. On Monday, however, they reopened, and the spot is now offering takeout and delivery… with a twist.

While the menu includes restaurant staples for you to crush your cravings with — burgers, fries, and Chinois prawns, for instance — there’s also an option for you to purchase a meal that will be donated to a local charity.

At $15 per donation, the restaurant will be matching each meal donated by customers.

The fundraiser, dubbed #TorontoTogether, aims to raise funds to feed people who are most in need of a hot dinner right now.

Already this week, the restaurant has 200 meals to organizations including The Meeting Place by West Neighbourhood House, Sunnybrook Hospital, as well as through Second Harvest.

MARBL’s goal is to raise $15,000 — or donate 1,000 meals — in April.

Those interested in making donations can do so here, or by ordering through DoorDash; just click the donate-a-meal option.
