While it may have looked like a calm winter day at 7 am, Toronto’s winter weather is slowly getting worse by the hour today.
And to prepare for this massive winter storm, many schools, colleges, and universities have announced they will be closed for the day on Tuesday.
- Environment Canada is advising everyone to postpone non-essential travel tomorrow
- Winter storm watch issued for Toronto as up to 20 cm of snow now expected
- City of Toronto issues Extreme Cold Weather Alert until further notice
It is now forecasting snowfall with total amounts of 20 to 25 cm by Wednesday.
Environment Canada’s winter storm warning also asked commuters to “consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.”
And with that, here are all the schools having a snow day today.
Toronto District School Board has closed all its schools and administrative sites.
Due to significant combination of snow, ice pellets & freezing rain expected throughout the day, all TDSB schools & administrative sites are closed today. This includes Child Care Centres located inside TDSB schools. 1/2
