Steve Dangle rips Toronto Maple Leafs for over 40 minutes in epic rant

For a team with as large a fanbase as the Toronto Maple Leafs, many celebrities have staked their support for the team over the years.

Whether it’s Justin Bieber, Will Arnett, Keanu Reeves, or Mike Myers, the list of well-known Canadians who cheer for the Blue and White goes on.

But if there’s one person who could be classified as famous (or at least, internet famous)  simply for being a Leafs fan, it’s longtime vlogger Steve Glynn, best known to the general public by the moniker Steve Dangle.

Throughout his 18 years as a public-facing Leafs fan on the internet, Dangle has become famous for his epic postgame reaction videos on YouTube, where he dissects each and every game of the team and offers commentary from a diehard fan perspective.

While Dangle isn’t the first person to offer a fan’s point of view of the game, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone with a more consistent output, given his nearly 3,000 videos uploaded to YouTube over the past two decades.

In recent years, Dangle has also taken to livestreaming every Leafs postseason game, giving a real-time look at his heart rate spiking throughout the game.

With the Leafs being notorious for, well, playoff ineptitude, Dangle has had no shortage of heaters over the years that have gone viral for his rants about the team.

In a 15-minute supercut of his stream uploaded today, Dangle rips the Leafs for, well, just about everything in a 4-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators, their second consecutive defeat after taking a 3-0 lead in the series.

“The Leafs are running out of opportunities to prove that they are not exactly what everyone says they are,” Dangle said at one point in the video.

While some content creators might see a three-hour stream as enough of a vehicle to get their anger out, there was still more to come.

Dangle also dropped the 25-minute version of his post-game reaction video.

While they’re technically two separate videos, it’s basically a 40-minute stream of consciousness of a man questioning every day why he chose to attach his identity so closely to the Leafs.

“4-0 in your barn,” an exasperated Dangle let out at one point in the video, before simply taking a long pause to reflect.

“You can still win this series and rewrite the book on yourself. But if Game 7 comes back to Toronto…” Dangle said, before letting his voice trail off and putting up a face that said more than his voice ever could.

With the Leafs and Senators taking to Game 6 on Thursday night in Ottawa, keep an eye out for Dangle perhaps hitting the one-hour mark on his next video if Toronto can’t get it done.
