For most of the players on the Florida Panthers, Tuesday night didn’t mark their first time partying with the Stanley Cup following a Game 6 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
Two years in a row now, the Panthers have knocked off the Oilers on their home rink at Amerant Bank Arena, ending the dream of the Stanley Cup’s return to Canada.
But just because many of them had won it before, the Panthers didn’t exactly have a calm party with hockey’s biggest prize.
Dancing in the arena late in the night before a morning visit to the historic Elbo Room, the Panthers barely slept ā if at all ā after winning the Stanley Cup.

Closer pictures of the party revealed that sometime over the night, the Panthers had actually put a rather sizeable dent into the Stanley Cup’s base, while also putting a chip in the bowl.

ItĀ would be seen as disrespectful to damage such a historic trophy… but that’d only be true if the Stanley Cup didn’t have the history of being the centre of some of the wildest party stories of all time.
And it’s only been a few years since such a big dent has appeared in Lord Stanley’s mug. Back in 2022, former Colorado Avalanche forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel dropped the trophy while the team was taking their annual Stanley Cup photo, around 15 minutes after the final buzzer.
Itās not exactly clear when the Hockey Hall of Fame will get a chance to correct the dents, though. The party season is just beginning, with each player getting a day with the Cup in their hometown or a city of their choice. Then thereās the parade sometime this week in Florida, and a host of other events that āol Stanley will be making an appearance at.
