Another Toronto LCBO employee has tested positive for COVID-19, the liquor store confirmed on Tuesday.

The employee, who works at the 87 Front Street East location of the LCBO, reportedly last worked in store on March 15.

They are now in recovery at home.

This is the second confirmed case of coronavirus the LCBO has seen in an employee, and both have been located in Toronto.

In the first case, the staff-member, employed at 1115 Lodestar Road, last worked in the store on Friday, March 20. That individual is also currently resting at home, the LCBO says.

The Lodestar Road location closed to the public for precautionary deep cleaning to take place, and the company reports it is working with public health officials to determine any employees with close contact.

The LCBO said it will support any additional employees who need to self-isolate, and will act immediately and accordingly should any further direction come from Toronto Public Health.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, the LCBO has increased cleaning and sanitization, and implemented in-store measures that promote physical distancing.

New HR policies have also been introduced in support of employees.

The LCBO also reduced its hours on March 19. Stores across Ontario are now open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to reflect the correct LCBO location, which is at 87 Front Street East.
