An LCBO employee at a Toronto retail location has tested positive for COVID-19.

The staff-member is employed at 1115 Lodestar Road, near Allen Road and Rimrock, and last worked in the store on Friday, March 20.

According to the LCBO, the individual is currently resting at home.

The retail location will be closed to the public while precautionary deep cleaning takes place, and the company reports it is working with public health officials to determine any employees with close contact.

The LCBO said it will support any additional employees who need to self-isolate, and will act immediately and accordingly should any further direction come from Toronto Public Health.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, the LCBO has increased cleaning and sanitization, and implemented in-store measures that promote physical distancing.

New HR policies have also been introduced in support of employees.

The LCBO also reduced its hours on March 19. Stores across Ontario are now open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
