You can celebrate the best of funky, tart beers from Ontario and beyond this weekend. Sourpolooza is taking place just a short drive from Toronto in Niagara-on-the-Lake this Saturday.
Tickets are $25 for each session which includes entry, a souvenir sampling glass, and four beer tokens. Meanwhile, additional tokens for 4 oz samples will be available for purchase at the festival for $2.50 each. Tokens can be used for 4 oz sour beer samples and food.
The event, presented by The Exchange Brewery & The Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce, is the first of its kind and will feature 10 breweries including Jolly Pumpkin, Burdock, Small Pony Barrel Works, Microbrasserie À la Fût, Indie Ale House, Bench Brewing, Block 3, Oast House, Blood Brothers, and Fairweather Brewing Co.
“Hosting the first ever sour beer-focused festival for the Niagara region is an idea we have talked about since the early days of the Exchange Brewery. We hope this event will draw both sour beer lovers and anyone with an interest in these styles to Niagara-on-the-Lake,” says Sam Maxbauer, Head Brewer at The Exchange Brewery on the event’s website.
“We wanted to have a brewer-curated festival line-up with some of our favourite sour beer producers from across the province and beyond. Together with our colleagues, we hope to help educate, foster new experiences for festival-goers with niche beer styles and continue to grow the festival year after year.”
