Eat soup for a good cause at Empty Bowls in Toronto this fall

The polar opposite of Toronto’s new ‘BYO-Bowl’ Soup Festival, this soup-centric event lets you take your soup bowl home with you!
Empty Bowls, now in its 26th year at the Gardiner, is part of a North America-wide initiative to aid the homeless and will see all proceeds go to Anishnawbe Health Toronto.

The annual event collects more than 400 bowls donated by potters, potter’s guilds, and students, then lets attendees pick one to fill with a choice of steaming hot soups ladled out by eminent Ontario chefs. At the end of the event, patrons can take home their handcrafted bowl as a souvenir.

To get the first pick of the bowls, tickets can be picked up starting at 11 am on the day of the event in the Gardiner Museum’s lobby. Once doors open at 5 pm, entrance will be granted as numbers are called sequentially.
