Select Sobeys grocers reopening garden centres ahead of Mother's Day
Garden centres at select Ontario stores across Sobeys Inc.’s family of brands, including Sobeys, Foodland and FreshCo, are now open with new social distancing procedures.
New safety measures that have been implemented at affected locations include a limit to the number of customers allowed in the garden centre at one time, shopping carts being sanitized after each use, and a designated customer waiting area.
While in the garden centre, customer flow arrows and signage outline existing social distancing procedures.
A spokesperson from the company tells Daily Hive that the grocer is continuing to prioritize employee and customer safety while managing a “new normal” that doesn’t compromise rigorous store cleaning, sanitization and health, and safety protocols.

Floral service departments, which have been taking pre-orders in advance of Mother’s Day weekend, are now open inside store locations as well.
