2016 has already been a stellar year for BBQ in Toronto with the openings of J&J, Adamson and Cherry Street… and there’s even more on the way.

This well-seasoned squad of pit-masters is already well established amidst Toronto’s pop-up circuit and now the BBQ outfit is set to open its first brick and mortar restaurant in Little Portugal.

Going in at the address formerly home to the Brazilian Star Bar & Grill, signs outside are already advertising brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage for dine-in, take-away and catering.

When doors open in the coming weeks, expect the menu to span the regional styles of the Southern states. Central Texas-style beef brisket seasoned simply with salt, pepper and smoke, Memphis dry rubbed ribs, pulled pork from the Carolinas, and even Jamaican jerk chicken will be staples while the selection of sides includes Frito pie, Mexican street corn, and deep fried mac ‘n cheese balls, in addition to the usual suspects; ‘tater salad, slaw, baked beans, mac ‘n cheese.
