You can dine 150 feet in the air this summer to celebrate Canada's 150

Talk about a dinner with a view.

To celebrate Canada 150, Ottawa will be hosting Sky Lounge as one of its signature events. From July 14 to 20, you can sign up (see: pay a lot of money) to be lifted 150-feet in the air above Ottawa City Hall for the culinary experience of a lifetime.

Executive Chef Stephen La Salle of hotel Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market’s restaurant Feast + Revel will be responsible for the menu.

Two different mid-air experiences are being offered. The first is a half-hour cocktail seating while the second is an hour-long gourmet dinner (see the menu here). Capacity for either event is limited to just 22 people.

“The Sky Lounge is a great example of the bold Signature Events that we conceived and secured from the very start of planning for the Ottawa 2017 celebrations,” said Guy Laflamme, Executive Director of the Ottawa 2017 Bureau in a release in 2016.

Certainly Ottawa will be the place to be on and around July 1, 2017. But if you want to be go above and beyond the usual tourist offerings, Sky Lounge is an obvious choice.

Just make sure you go to the washroom before you take your seat.
